International Folklore Festival of Mato Grosso 2011
Cáceres/MT - Brazil August 19th through the 21st
During the period of August 19th to the 21st, 2011, Cáceres-MT will be the World Capital of Folklore. Dancers, musicians and folklorists from two continents will assemble in a large gathering, carrying the message of peace, harmony and integration among people.
The realization of FiFOLK / MT - International Folklore Festival of Mato Grosso 2011, now in it's second year, is the result of the popularization of the art and culture of Mato Grosso that Group Chalana has been performing since its foundation which culminated in the installation of the Delagacia of FEBRARP - Brazilian Federation of Popular Art in Cáceres - Mato Grosso. These were the efforts of people committed to strengthening the arts and culture of the State of Mato Grosso who joined the Organizing Association of FIFOLK - MT; the municipal government of Cáceres, the partnerships with the state government Mato Grosso through the Secretary for Culture, the Secretary of Tourism Development, the community service organizations and private industry.
The event will bring together international groups, awarded in various parts of the world, it will go on to strengthen local culture, education and tourism, involving hundreds of people, with a forecast of more than fifty shows to be performed, opening new arenas and spreading our culture to the world.
